The first alpha version of the Debian Installer for use by Debian 12 “Bookworm” is now available for early testing.
Overnight, the first alpha version of the installer configured to power Debian 12 “Bookworm” was released for testing. Debian Installer Bookworm Alpha 1 extracts Linux kernel 5.19, harmonized UEFI and BIOS boot menus, text-to-speech now starts automatically after a 30 second delay, Microsoft Windows 11 detection support is now hard-wired, support for DMRAID experimental support was dropped and a variety of other package updates.
The Bookworm installer also added support for the Banana Pi M2 Ultra and various other Arm boards. There are 78 language translations for the DI Bookwork Alpha 1 release.
