Danish company Nordisk Games has acquired more of Star Stable Entertainment and now has a majority stake.
The company now owns 57% of manufacturer Star Stable Online, after owning 40% of the business. That itself was greater than the “substantial minority” stake in Star Stable Entertainment that Nordisk Games had acquired in 2018 for $ 18 million.
“Nordisk Games has been such a positive influence on the studio, and their purchase of additional shares is a big endorsement of everything we’ve done so far and our plans for the future,” said Johan Sjöberg, CEO of Star Stable.
“The great thing about Nordisk Games’ approach is that they are not interested in controlling what we do, but rather in helping us in the long term to achieve something special. That is why we look forward to continuing the excellent working relationship that we have. “
Mikkel Weider, CEO of Nordisk Games (on the picture) added, “What we love about Johan and the team at Star Stable Entertainment is how they’ve stayed true to their vision of making a game so unlike anything on the market. Not only by creating a unique game, but then expanding the Star Stable universe to animation, books and more. We like to say that we want to work with studios that have broad and bold visions; Having just celebrated the 10th anniversary of Star Stable Online, I can’t think of a studio that better embodies this approach.
