It’s August and the new PC game releases are here. Check out the 5 best PC games you need to play. List includes Saints Row, Thymesia, Hearthstone: Murder at Castle Nathria and more

August is here and PC gamers have a reason to be happy this month as some really cool games are on their way. The previous month was a bit lackluster, but this month looks set to catch up. Although this month may not be as big as February 2022 when Elden Ring was released, there are definitely some games that will catch players’ attention. Thymesia is one of them that offers an Elden Ring-like experience but in a completely different aesthetic. Other than that, the Saints Row reboot will be something longtime fans of the franchise will look forward to. This month also brings Hearthstone: Murder at Castle Nathria, the second expansion of the year as well as the massive update for Total War: Warhammer 3 Immortal Empires releasing this month. Finally, for fans of mystery games, Immortality will offer you something unique. Let’s take a look at the top 5 PC games released in August.

The upcoming game brings an interesting twist to the RPG genre. Taking inspiration from the book of Dark Soul, the game is soul-like where players have to use the power of death and disease to curse the enemies. Developed by OverBorder Studio and published by Team17, the game follows main character Corvus who finds himself in a medieval world battling knights and monsters. Additionally, Corvus can use plague as a weapon system. The game releases on August 18.

Saints Row

Saints Row IV was released in 2013. Since then, fans have been asking for a new Saints Row game. While what they’re getting isn’t exactly a new game, the reboot is promising enough to excite loyal fans. The core gameplay remains the same, with your main objective being to take over the 9 districts and start illegitimate businesses to help fund your ambitions. The game has revamped everything from graphics to gameplay mechanics. Players also get a detailed character creator as well as drop-in co-op multiplayer. The game releases on August 23.

Hearthstone: Murder at Castle Nathria

The popular online card game is getting its second expansion of the year with Murder at Castle Nathria. The expansion brings no less than 135 new cards, the Location card type, and the Infuse keyword to the game. This adds new mechanics as well as new deck combos for players to try out. The extension was added yesterday, August 2.

Total War: Warhammer 3 Immortal Empires

Warhammer’s highly anticipated update, which will combine the game’s three campaigns and merge them into one gigantic single map, is coming in August. Unlike previous campaigns, the focus is not on survival battles and mission objectives, but rather on conquering maps. Lots of things are changing from racing additions, changing victory conditions and more. Players should expect an entirely different game once it releases on August 23.

Unlike the other games on this list, Immortality is a story-driven game. Players will have to watch archival footage to piece together the mystery of missing actress Marissa Marcel. The game releases on August 30.
