MedARC

MedARC aims to form a foundation for medical AI research and create interdisciplinary teams to meet clinical needs. Our open-access approach includes sharing models and datasets, publishing results, and establishing a public forum for contributions.

AI has made huge strides in other fields due to the use of large-scale models (>0.5 billion parameters): GPT-3/ChatGPT has achieved near-human accuracy in various text processing tasks, CLIP has enabled new multi-modal applications, and Stable Diffusion has made photorealistic text-to-image generation available to the public.

We strongly believe that the development of foundation models tailored to the medical domain holds great potential. Inspired by similar projects in other disciplines (GPT-NeoX-20B, Stable Diffusion, OpenFold, etc.), we are forming an open and collaborative research community and providing access to computational resources and expertise to pursue medical AI research.
