It is a common opinion that computer generated reviews are not as good as those written by humans. We decided to put this assumption to the test. We used a free online version of the GPT-2 language model and a tool named Shortly to generate content. The generated content was surprisingly good with regards to experience and emotion, however, it had some inaccuracies related to names and developers.

Conclusion: AI can’t review a video game.

Nevertheless, the progress AI-generated content has made is remarkable. We may soon get to a point where some outlets or news wires start using GPT-3 models to generate press release material as the amount of content online is too vast for the number of people available to write it.

In the end, it is clear that humans are still the best when it comes to reviews. People know best what elements matter to other people. AI might eventually be able to do so, but at the moment it is better to rely on the human touch.
